Best value RAID 10 card ?

    Numpang nanya,

    Karena sy lebih sering pakai RAID CARD bawaan server branded, saya jadi kurang tahu RAID CARD apa yang masuk kriteria berikut:

    1. Mudah didapat di Indonesia.
    2. Minimal 4 HDD internal SATA.
    3. Compatible dan gampang dipakai di komputer rakitan rackmount 2U sukur2 1U.
    4. Best value untuk dipakai RAID 10 (Memory kecil tanpa BBWC atau FBWC pun gak masalah)

    Mohon sharingnya, setelah googling sana sini biasa ke pentok di no 1 :)

    SATA brapa ya pakde? coba cari 3ware (LSI) 9500 series.. lumayan murah koq itu. saya ada rencana mau beli bulk, sekalian nitip? :p

    ada lagi sih yg lebih rendah tapi saya lupa merknya.. yg jelas pemain utamanya 3ware sama adaptec..

    SATA II atau III selama best value :). Emangnya mau beli bulk di mana dan seri apa om ? Boleh juga nih kite kloteran.

    ebay pakde.. :D tapi sata III kayaqnya ga compatible dah tu 9500 series.. rencana sih buat di US saya pakenya, tapi klo mau nebeng ya gpp beberapa ada yg saya kirim ke Indo.. liat2 dulu keadaannya tapi. ntar kena cukainya gede malah jadi lebih mahal kan ga lucu juga :D

    wah kebetulan ada yg mbahas RAID, mau nebeng pertanyaan boleh ya om?

    nah, karena gak pake batere BBU, pas itu default write policy Writethrough. ternyata sangat lambat :2::2:

    ini mau saya ubah ke Writeback, apa kira2 aman untuk existing data skrg? maksutnya apa akan destroy data yg ada dengan melakukan perubahan write / read policy pada properties virtual drive yg sudah ada?

    ga bakal ngerusak data klo cuma switch dari WT ke WB. data ilang "hanya" klo server mati mendadak.. lenyap semua spare.. :D

    mending beli batrenya. tapi klo dari resultnya itu kayaqnya Onboard yah? mending pake software raid aja.

    ternyata cuman driver megaraid buat esxi minta di update hehehe, udah beres. masih blum perlu ubah ke wb. sekalian nunggu batre nya ada. maklum yg punya server pelitnya minta ampun

    raid card nya gak onboard om, kan keliatan tuh di pci slot 2 :D

    testing di salah satu vm, centos 6 full desktop, running aplikasi ERP, base on java + mysql

    /dev/sda:
    Timing cached reads: 35292 MB in 1.99 seconds = 17691.64 MB/sec
    Timing buffered disk reads: 538 MB in 3.01 seconds = 178.87 MB/sec

    agak lumayan hehehe, sebelumnya :2:

    Timing buffered disk reads: 40 MB in 3.14 seconds = 12.72 MB/sec

    pernah punya pengalaman juga sih sama supermicro yg gak cocok sama raid card keluaran mereka sendiri. Solusinya waktu itu upgrade bios firmware.

    btw udah jadi beli BBU nya dan di set writeback untuk RAID Card AOC-USAS2LP-H8iR ? Boleh dong di share test speed bedanya jadi berapa ?

    kalo di saya, pake ServeRAID M1015 Controller without BBU, jadi terpakem di Writethrough. ntar jika ada waktu akan saya test benchmark disk/io internalnya.
