New CloudLinux Production Kernel: 2.6.18-338.9.1.el5.lve0.8.32

kernel 2.6.18-338.9.1.el5.lve0.8.32 was moved to stable repositories. The kernel is re-base of upstream kernel (OpenVZ 028stab089.1). It has following changes and bug fixes:
  • Rebase on 238.9.1 RHEL update (security fixes, see RHSA-2011-0429)
  • Fixes in OOM killer and CPU stats
  • Sysctl to tune the relatime update interval (fs.relatime_interval)
  • Fixed Bulldozer boot process (patch from AMD devs)
  • Fixed page tables accounting
  • Improved fairsched performance, sysctl kernel.vcpu_hot_timeslice now work properly
  • Made uevent files readable
  • Single-threaded rpciod
  • Updated DRBD
  • Optimized file list locking

To install new kernel:

# yum install kernel-2.6.18-338.9.1.el5.lve0.8.32

If you have PAE, xen or Enterprise kernel -- use corresponding prefix, like: kernel-PAE, kernel-xen, kernel-ent instead of kernel
